Saturday,  March 17, 2007

Saturday, March  17th, the 20th Annual " Wearin' of the Green Parade", sponsored by the Fenian's Irish Pub, we are traditionalist and only march and celebrate on the good saint's feastday...St. Patrick's Day.

It's a wee parade and it's grand!  (had over 2500 participants last year!)

Parade Information

Line up at the North end of Main Street at 10:45 am.  Step out lively and begin at 10:55 am.  A five minute march; three minutes if inclement weather.  Parade route is from the North end of Main Street to the South end. However, with a pub in the middle, as luck would have it...we've never completed one yet!

Everyone is welcome to march and celebrate with banners, floats, clans, bikes, horseback riders, etc.

Carrying the Irish Tri-Color flag this year is

our Grand Marshall 2007, Jeanne Byron.

Followed by The Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School Marching Band and The Fenian's Irish Fiddle, Bodhran and Whistle Marching Band and all our parade participants.

....And immediately following the Parade

All Day Irish Hooley

Immediately following Parade, our traditional authentic "Irish Hooley"at the Fenian's Pub, with ongoing Traditional Irish Music Session.  Irish musicians, singers and dancers are warmly welcomed to join the Session.  It's such a very Irish thing and a genuine Irish Spree!  We look forward to welcoming everyone home for the holiday.  No cover charge and no reservations.
